inheritance of structural traits
2026-05-08
This paper establishes the inheritance structure through which observable properties of reality arise from pre-aligned potential. Pattern Field Theory identifies a structurally unstable null state containing unaligned potential, possibility, and probability. Recursive structural alignment events generate stable closure configurations, forming a substrate capable of sustaining persistent organization. Structural traits present in observable reality are therefore not created by physical structure but inherited through alignment transmission from the null domain into stabilized relational systems. The work formalizes the origin–transmission–manifestation chain and defines the conditions under which probabilistic potential becomes structured physical reality.

origin \(\rightarrow\) transmission \(\rightarrow\) manifestation
origin - unaligned potential
transmission - alignment inheritance through substrate
manifestation - structured observable reality
Structural Inheritance Principle
Observable reality exhibits universal structural traits including potential, possibility, and probability. These properties are not localized phenomena but persistent features across all physical scales. Any generative account of reality must therefore explain the origin and transmission of these traits.
Pattern Field Theory proposes that these traits are inherited. They originate in a structurally unaligned null state, propagate through alignment-generated substrate formation, and manifest as constrained physical structure.
This establishes a directional generative chain:
origin → transmission → manifestation.
The remainder of this paper formalizes each stage of this inheritance process.
Glossary
Null State - Structurally unstable domain containing unaligned potential, possibility, and probability.
Alignment - Mutual structural compatibility across relational configuration.
Fractal Closure - Recursive admissible stabilization across refinement depth.
Substrate - Stable relational domain produced by persistent alignment.
Structural Trait - Property transmitted through generative lineage rather than created locally.
